This spacious junk warehouse is hidden in the industrial jungle on the way to Melbourne airport. Next time you’re heading that way, allow an extra hour and go picking.
Halsey Road Recyclers is an offshoot of Wren Demolition, but stock in the warehouse has been collated from a wide range of sources. Todd Wren has owned antique furniture stores since 1976 and has been saving, collecting and restoring Australian vintage all his life.
Visitors can browse retro furniture, industrial vintage, collectables, secondhand office furniture, recycled building materials and plenty of intriguing bits and pieces. The space is well organised and easy to navigate, and staff are friendly and happy to help.
Airport West may sound daunting for inner city dwellers but Halsey Road is easy to find and only 100 metres from the Tullamarine Freeway. They also offer a delivery service.
Half the fun of junk hunting is finding somewhere new. If you like poking around a big space with plenty of variety, Halsey Road Recyclers won’t disappoint.
